Looking for last minute edible gift ideas for that one person you seem to always forget about? Fear not, I have the perfect gift for you! These toffee biscuits look very impressive and take little time to make. They only require a handful of ingredients and most of which you probably already have on hand.
These toffee biscuits take less than 15 minutes to make and are very simpleto do. So if you lack skill in the baking department this recipe is perfect for you! This recipe is also great because you can change it up every time and add different toppings or chocolate each time. My personal favourite are just plain white chocolate and candy cane pretzel.
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 sleeve of saltine crackers
1 package (226 grams) of white chocolate chips
crushed candy canes
Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees F. While the oven is pre-heating, prepare a parchment lined cookie sheet and evenly lay the saltine crackers (make sure to not over lap them as they will not hold well). Once the crackers are prepared, place a pot on medium heat. Add the butter and brown sugar and mix until they are melted and well combined. Once the mixture begins to boil, allow it to boil for exactly three minutes. Then pour that glorious mixture all over the crackers evenly (make sure every cracker gets some toffee mixture). Place the cookie sheet into the oven and bake for 5-6 minutes or until bubbly (I find 6 minutes works perfect for me). Remove from the oven and sprinkle with white chocolate chips. Wait one minute before spreading the chips over the toffee biscuits (they become softened after the minute, making spreading easier). Then add the crushed preztels and candy canes and transfer to the refrigerator for 30 minutes to harden. Break into desirable pieces and enjoy!
